Define Brave

“You’re either for the Führer or against him–and I can see that you’re against him. You always have been. It’s pathetic–how a man can stand by and do nothing as a whole nation cleans out the garbage and makes itself great.” Hans Junior calls Papa Hans a coward for not being more eager to join The Party, but I say it is braver to not follow the crowd like a lemming when you know the crowd is wrong.

The Thin Line

“The only thing worse than a boy who hates you…A boy who loves you” Whether it’s good or bad, someone who has such strong feelings is always dangerous. Love and hate are two sides of the same coin.

What Not to Wear

“I like this human idea of the grim reaper. I like the scythe. It amuses me. I do not carry a sickle or scythe. I only wear a hooded black robe when it’s cold.” My question is what does Death wear when it’s not cold? I’m guessing jeans and a basic tee because Death likes to keep things casual.

Knock, Knock

“…one opportunity leads directly to another, just as risk leads to more risk, life to more life, and death to more death.” I guess that’s like Newton’s first law of motion. Objects in motion stay in motion until acted upon by an outside force.

Word is Bond

“A person is only as good as their word.” The movie is just pouring salt in the wound by making Liesel break her promise to Papa Hans to never tell anyone, not even Rudy, about Max living in the basement. Liesel loved Papa Hans more than anyone else in this world and would never break that trust, but I guess the people in charge of the movie didn’t get that memo. This may be one of the differences I hated most of all.

Like a Polaroid Picture

“The BEST word shakers were the ones who understood the true power of words. They were the ones who could climb the highest.” It’s obviously not true to say “words will never hurt me” because the rise of Hitler has taught us that words can be more powerful and more damaging than any physical weapon.

Mirror Mirror

“You want to know what I truly look like? Find yourself a mirror while I continue.” Death not only lives among us, but it is also lives within each of us. Maybe this is the reason why vampires cannot see their reflections. Death don’t live there anymore.

Your Turn

So…have you ever broken a promise? When did you stand against the crowd? Do you have a love/hate relationship with someone? When was your last good opportunity? Let us know in the comments! |RL
